Giving Back

The Austin SIM Chapter is passionate about inspiring our youth to learn about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Through the participation of our members, friends of SIM and guests in Chapter STEM scholarship events, SIM Chapter Challenges, and other activities, the Austin SIM Chapter has been able to set aside funds to promote technology careers and STEM education opportunities.

SIM Austin is proud to support the University of Texas at Austin's Academy for All.

Academy for All is a one week summer camp for high schoolers aimed at promoting tech careers while breaking down diversity, equity and inclusion barriers.

SIM Austin President, Julie Bullerman, presented the 2023 donation of $15,000 at the Austin InnoTech Luncheon held on May 3rd.

2018 STEM Award to UT Austin

Our 2018 event, “It’s Not About Golf – It’s About STEM Education Charity Golf Tournament”, was a great success! Because of the wonderful participation, we were able to present a check for $10,000 to the University of Texas at Austin's Computer Science Department to be awarded as scholarships  that participate in the University’s Code Longhorn Summer Camp and then matriculate into UT.

The computer science high school camp brings together 60 students from across Texas and current computer science students for a week of programming projects, lab tours, and industry workshops to encourage more students from underrepresented groups to pursue computer science education.

Since its inception, the SIM Austin Chapter has awarded $25,000 to the University of Texas at Austin for STEM scholarships.

Thank you to everyone that has contributed to the success of our STEM events!
